What type of warranty is offered on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles?
All new Harley-Davidson® motorcycles come with a 2 year, unlimited warranty. All used Harley-Davidson® motorcycles that fall within the original terms of the warranty are covered by the warranty until the warranty expires. Any motorcycle that falls outside the original warranty is not covered, however, warranty for these motorcycles can be purchased.
Does Harley-Davidson® offer extended warranty plans?
Get fender-to-fender protection for your bike with the Harley-Davidson® Extended Service Plan. Take action before the factory warranty expires. Unfortunately, you can't buy the Harley-Davidson® Extended Service Plan after your factory warranty expires. With the Harley-Davidson® Extended Service Plan, you'll ride worry-free:
- Get fender-to-fender protection for your bike against mechanical breakdowns
- Locked-in repair costs: All you'll pay is the $50 deductible for covered repairs per visit, not per repair.
- Protected Resale: The Harley-Davidson® Extended Service Plan can be transferred to a new owner for $25
- Travel Protection: Reimbursements provided for a rental car, pickup charges, hotel, and your meals*.
- Payment Options: You can pay for this protection with the Harley-Davidson® Visa® Card, or include it with your loan.
Are there additional coverage plans that Harley-Davidson® offers?
Harley-Davidson® provides the Credit Life & Disability and the GAP Program for extra measure of protection. Harley-Davidson® Credit Life & Disability covers your motorcycle loan payments should a covered accident or illness disable you. The plan will take over during the disability (after a short waiting period) and make the scheduled loan payments for as long as you are disabled and a balance remains on your loan. In the case of premature death, the Credit Life Insurance pays your motorcycle loan debt. Which means your loved ones will have one less thing to deal with.
For many Harley-Davidson® owners, if their motorcycle is stolen and never recovered, chances are they will have to pay the “gap” between their insurance company payment and the loan payment. Often H-D® owners assume that their primary insurance will cover any loss related to their motorcycle. In reality, the actual cash value that an insurance company places on your motorcycle may be substantially less than the outstanding balance on your loan.
